(Enterprise) Architecture in Accounting?
We've been wrestling with various forms of EA over the last several years as a tool to try to better connect IT to the strategy of the business. The challenge we seem to face, though, is that the business lines and practice groups tend to view themselves as almost individual firms w/in the firm, so it's difficult to bring anything "enterprise" to the enterprise outside of things like the ERP/time & billing/email.
We've managed to spool up some good technical and application architecture groups and are working on information architecture, but want to take the simplification and process improvement outside of IT.
Has anyone had any success doing something like this?
